“A life in moral darkness can have no more communion with God, than a life in a coal-pit can have communion with the sun.” (The Preacher’s Homiletic Commentary)

The question God is asking His church today is the same He asked Israel through the Prophet Amos – “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3)

So many in our day and time are professing to “walk with God,” but their profession is false and insincere.

They are seeking to live a life of mixture!

This is a contradiction beyond compare!

For, 2 Corinthians 6:14 asks –   “…what communion hath light with darkness?”

Matthew Poole’s Commentary spells it out for us by saying – “Light and darkness are frequently put for holiness and wickedness.”

Hence, The Pulpit Commentary assures us that – “To have communion with Him Who is light, and be continually exhibiting a life of darkness, is impossible.”
