God Works In Mysterious Ways - A Special Note from Connie

Several weeks ago, I received a letter from the California Institute For Women. A woman inmate was writing to request my Daily Messages. I   sent her an entire week's worth. Along with my messages, I sent her a letter - asking her how she came across my writings. Today, I received her response and was absolutely amazed. Here is what she wrote -

"God bless you! Connie, yes, God does work in mysterious ways. I was looking through this closet we have here. It's a place where most people put things to read that they are finished with. As soon as I seen your spiritual work, it caught my eye. So I took a chance on writing you. Thank you for answering. And thank God. If you don't mind, can we become sisters in Christ? Sincerely yours..........."

I cannot tell you how thrilled I was to read this letter and to see how my messages are getting into places of which I am not aware. Someone on my mailing list must have taken some of my messages into this Correctional Institute in California, and God continues to use them to bless countless inmates. There is no telling how many have been touched by God through them. Praise His Holy Name!

Every week, I send Richard Roberts - our incarcerated Brother- in Christ who is presently in Seagoville, Texas - all of my messages, and he has been known to pass them along to the other inmates as well. Some have even contacted me and told me what a blessing they were to them.

This past Tuesday, I went with our church to an orientation to be a Chaplain's volunteer at the Correctional Institution in Fort Worth, Texas. What an experience that was! I must say - this was not my first time ministering in a prison, but it was quite a life-changing experience. The oppression of the devil was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. The presence of the devil and evil was very evident.

I was taken on a tour of the facility with a group of ladies. We were escorted by the Woman Chaplain. We were told that we needed to quickly memorize the floors of the building where the women inmates were located - because if we ever happened to fall on a floor where the men were - we would see things that we wouldn't want to see!

What was so sad to me was the fact that most - if not all - of the inmates were very young - ranging from the ages of 18-25 years old. When I asked the chaplain what their general charges were - she said everything imaginable - including murder.

Saints, these are young people who should be starting out in life - looking to start a career or a family - doing something beneficial for God and society. But this is not what I saw. In fact, most of the girls were third time offenders. In other words, they had been released but committed the crime again and landed right back where they started.

I was told that most are on anti-depressants to drown out the pain of their defeated lives.

I am right now praying about the Lord's leading as to whether or not He will have me go on a weekly basis and teach a Bible Study to the women. We were told that it is best not to start unless you can be consistent - for they get very attached to you as their teacher and resultantly, feel very let down when you cannot make it for a class.

One thing, I know for sure - I am going to bombard this place with copies of my messages.

These inmates need strong teaching on Salvation, the Fear of the Lord, Hatred for Sin, Holiness, and Victory over sin - so that when they get out, they will never return to such a place.

I was appalled to sit next to a young man who was coming as a volunteer. We began to talk about the Bible, and before long, he began to justify sin in the believer's life. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This will be one of the teachers teaching the men the Bible. The last thing the inmates need to hear is how you can live like the devil and still go to heaven!

I am writing to you this day to ask all of you to pray about supporting this ministry with your financial gifts. I need your help. I cannot do this on my own. The need is very great. Eventually, I would love to have my messages printed in a book form and plant them - especially in the prisons of America. These inmates have so much time on their hands. What better way to fill it than with Bible messages that will convict them of sin, teach them faith in the Lord Jesus, and show them how to live in victory over sin.

Can I count on you to help me?

I ask that you would all pray and ask the Lord what He would have you to do. You are only required to do as He directs. He is your Shepherd and Lord.

Each day, so many on my mailing list write and tell me what a great blessing I have been to them. Now, I ask - will you consider being a blessing to me with your financial support?

God has blessed some of you with a great abundance of wealth. What better way to show your gratitude to the Lord Jesus for all that He has done for you than to give a gift for the furtherance of His Gospel work or to support such a work on a regular basis?

I want to thank all of you who have been faithful to send your tithes and offerings in the past. But God never intended that the work of saving souls and building up His kingdom would be handled by only a select few. This is the work of the entire Body. We must all do our part.

Most of all - please pray that God would continue to anoint my messages, expand my mailing list across this Internet, spread these messages far and wide, and keep me sensitive to His heart and ear - so as to know what He wants to say to His people at the moment.

Lastly, please join your faith with mine that God would provide a car for me.
