" The DEEP Things of God "

Here is a message sent out by my husband Carl that will surely bring things into perspective for all of us. It deals with the "Deep Things of God." May God use it to get our focus back on the Cross of Calvary and keep it there.

"What can wash away my sins - nothing but the Blood of Jesus!"

" The DEEP Things of God "

......... " for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, THE DEEP THINGS OF GOD "---1st Corinthians 2:10

Here in The Dallas area there is a certain Pastor who has been accused, at times, of "Not being DEEP enough" in his preaching and teaching ministry. Never mind that this particular pastor carries REVIVAL FIRE in his very bones, and that everywhere he goes REVIVAL FIRE spreads...... for some, he is not "DEEP enough". Never mind that he constantly exalts, glorifies, and testifies of THE LORD JESUS...... for some, he is not "DEEP enough". And, never mind that when he preaches and teaches, SOULS, come running down the isles to get SAVED and the CHURCH comes running down the isles to get SANCTIFIED.......... for some, he is not "DEEP enough".

All of this, and much more, that I have seen an heard, leads me to the following conclusion----The DEEP THINGS OF GOD people, amongst us, are a nauseating stench and an abomination in the nostrils of our SOUL SAVING and CHURCH SANCTIFYING God !!!

Now, if all that I have said, thus far, above, is not plain enough, then write to me and I'll see if I can make it a little clearer to you as to where I stand on "THE DEEP THINGS OF GOD ".

And, please, do not misunderstand me. I am not , in any way, making light of our text, above, from 1st Corinthians 2:10.

Only a fool would ever make light of THE WORD OF GOD.....but, I will make light of, criticize, and give a HOLY REBUKE to the way that many psuedo-spiritual flakes, amongst us, mis-interpret this text, and many others.

Let me say, concerning our text, of 1st Corinthians 2:10, that Paul was not speaking of some spooky "DEEP" things that he had come up with, out of thin air ( "revelation from God " ) . Rather, I believe, if you will study this out in light of the preceding chapter 1 ( and the rest of the Bible ) you will plainly see that Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, was once again pointing the whole world to---JESUS---and declaring that THE DEEP THINGS OF GOD....THE POWER OF GOD....THE WISDOM OF GOD,

and indeed everything else that's of God, is tied up and tangled up in one word---JESUS !!!

Let me say to all who are seeking "THE DEEP THINGS OF GOD" in the Bible--- take another look at JOHN 3:16 !

And while the "DEEP ONES" are scoffing and mocking such a thought, let me say ---THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ANY DEEPER IN GOD'S HOLY WORD THAN JOHN 3:16 . We ( saved ones ) will be trying to fathom the DEPTHS of JOHN 3:16 for all eternity !

Now, I'll make a statement that will go right over the heads of many that are reading this. That statement is---

There is nothing any DEEPER , that you could communicate, to both sinner and saint, other than JOHN 3:16

In other words, if you really want to be DEEP, try pointing the whole world to JESUS and HIS GLORIOUS CROSS ! ....

HIS DEATH, BURIAL, AND RESURRECTION !

HIS PRECIOUS BLOOD ATONEMENT !

HIS SAVING POWER !

HIS DELIVERING POWER !

HIS POWER TO BAPTIZE WITH THE HOLY GHOST AND FIRE !

AND THE FACT THAT HE IS THE SOON COMING KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS ! ! !

Now, if you stick to the above "DEEP THINGS OF GOD"---you will be DEEP indeed---there's nothing any DEEPER.

It would seem that it has never occurred to the "DEEP ONES" that the ENTIRE BIBLE, from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21,

points to ONE PERSON and ONE EVENT----JESUS AND HIS BLOOD ATONEMENT !!!

Just the other day, a man, who had been listening to a "DEEP ONE" on the radio, asked me----

"Carl, do you know who, or what, the "SEVEN THUNDERS " of Revelation chapter 10 are ???!!!

He was all excited with his newfound knowledge of THE DEEPER THINGS OF GOD and he was sure that I would not know the answer. He was right. I didn't know the answer. I answered his question -----

" No, I have NO IDEA who, or what, the " SEVEN THUNDERS " of Revelation chapter 10 are.

Further more, I don't even care what they are. Furthermore, you don't know what they are either; neither does your little radio "Bible Teacher" know what they are....cause Revelation Chapter 10 ( verse 4 ) tells us that the "SEVEN THUNDERS"

are sealed up and not written....therefore, you, me, and nobody else knows what they are....so, I don't even care what they are."

But, I'll tell you all day long WHO I know and WHAT I know ! I know JESUS !!! I know what He did, and does, for me !!!!!

I'll tell you WHO He is and WHAT He will do for YOU !!!!!! Brother, I'm gettin' DEEP now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I know, multitudes of the "DEEP ONES" will tisk,tisk, my "shallowness" as they read this. ----"Poor Brother Carl, he just isn't very DEEP "............

It seems the BIGGIE topic for "Christian" books and sermons nowadays is about--- " Being INTIMATE with HIM ".

Usually, the silly women's brigade ( 2nd Timothy 3:6 ) are into this type of psuedo-spiritual tommy-rot.

We ( my wife and I ) once came across the paths of a group of women who were really DEEP. They would say things like---

"I just want to be with HIM " ....."I just want to be INTIMATE with HIM "....."Oh ! I just love HIM !!!

My question is---"Who in the world is "HIM " ??? Is HIM your husband ??? Is HIM your boyfriend ??? WHO IS HIM ???

Now, I know that these "DEEP" and "SPIRITUAL" ones think that they are being really cute and clever in referring to HIM....

BUT, my point is------- HIM has a NAME and HIM'S NAME is-----JESUS !!!!!!!

Again, I can almost hear the tisks and silly smirking giggles of the DEEP ONES as they scoff my shallowness and un-spirituality.

BUT, let me warn you ladies ( and whoever )---You had better STOP referring to BEING INTIMATE WITH HIM as though you are in some kind of spiritual sexual escapade with GOD...because that is exactly what it sounds like when you talk such psuedo-spiritual DEEP NONSENSE !

STOP taking the analogy of the Church being the "BRIDE OF CHRIST " to the physical, perverted, and carnal level that you are really on. You are simply revealing the DEEP LUST problem that you have and that you are even carrying over into your supposed relationship with God Almighty. This kind of talk and teaching is an un-holy stench. It's not spiritual nor deep.

A certain man ( a preacher ) decided that he needed to lock himself in his room and fast and pray in order to get closer to HIM.

Now, I am in no way making light of fasting and praying.... But, about the second day of this preacher's pursuit of HIM, low and behold, HIM showed up---

HIM asked the preacher---"What are you doing ?"

The preacher answered---"Oh ! I just want to be with HIM !

HIM then revealed the secret of how to be INTIMATE with HIM. HIM said------

"Get out of this room and GO TELL SOMEBODY ABOUT JESUS ! "
