A Message From Connie
I received an e-mail this morning inquiring about an address
for Richard Roberts - our incarcerated Brother-in-Christ. If you
would like to write to Richard - send him a note of encouragement or
a Greeting card...or put money on his commissary(account for
personal items, food, or medical bills), then you will need to
address your envelope to:
Richard C. Roberts F56840
Hunt County Detention Center
2801 Stuart St.
Greenville, TX 75401
There is one stipulation that you must follow - you
must place your full name and address in the
left-hand top corner of the envelope. If you fail to write your full name
and full address, your letter will be rejected and returned to you.
No nicknames or abbreviations are allowed. Your return address must
be complete with a full name and address. This is for safety reasons. The
incoming mail is screened very heavily so that no paraphernalia - dangerous
to the inmates or guards - is passed through.
Also, if you feel led of the Lord to send Richard a financial gift
to be placed on his commissary account, you must send it by way of a
money order. Any other forms used - personal checks or cash - will
be rejected and sent back to you. You will write the money order out to -
Richard C. Roberts.
Money orders are easily gotten through your bank or at your local 7-
11 stores or any gas stations.
Neither Richard - nor his wife Barbra - have any idea that I am
doing this - so any expressions of love from you will be a great surprise
and absolute encouragement to both of them.
Please pray about how the Lord would have you respond to this
request.
The Lord Jesus told us in Matthew 25:34-40 -
''Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand,
Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world: For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was
thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked,
and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison,
and ye came unto Me. Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord,
when saw we Thee an hungered, and fed Thee? or thirsty, and gave Thee drink?
When saw we Thee a stranger, and took Thee in? or naked, and clothed Thee?
Or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto Thee? And the
King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as
ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it
unto Me."
I know that we are all busy with our various jobs and daily
business. To write to Richard, send a card, or a money gift - might be a
great sacrifice - but what kind of sacrifice can we make -
"to one of the least" of Jesus' brethren -
in comparison to His sacrifice for us on Calvary's cross?
Some of you have been praying for God to use you in some way - well,
here is an opportunity for you to be a great blessing in someone else's
life.
Let's put our Christianity into action here.
"I was sick, and ye visited me:
I was in prison, and ye came unto Me."
Here is your opportunity to visit Jesus in the prison and to show
your Great Appreciation for all that He has done for you and your
family. Your reward will be great.
I know that I can count on all of you to do your part and obey God
in this matter.
May God bless you and your household today with His Mighty Presence.
In Jesus' Awesome Name I pray.
