God
Has A Set Time For Your Miracle
"Promised
mercies are to be expected when the full time for
them is come, and not before."
"God is always
punctual to His time, though His promised mercies
come not at the time we set, they will certainly
come at the time He sets, and that is the best
time." - both quotes from Matthew Henry
Numbers 23:19 tells us -
"God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the
son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and
shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He
not make it good?"
We must understand a few things - God cannot
lie...His decrees, counsel, and promises are
unchangeable...with Him there is
"no variableness, neither
shadow of turning"(James 1:17)...unlike
man, He does not break His word...He will not recall
His promise to you and me.
"...hath He said, and
shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He
not make it good?"
This line of Scripture should be memorized and then
spoken by every believer on a Daily basis. It must
be ingrained in our hearts and minds the concept
that if God gives a promise, He will surely perform
it in His providence. It will come to pass. No
"and's," "if's," or "but's" about it!
You may feel as though you definitely believe that
God can do all things - that nothing is so
difficult, great, or wonderful so as to exceed His
Mighty Power. But it is the waiting for something to
happen that causes you grief.
You need to ask yourself -
Is God's delay my denial?
Look to the Scriptures and see what they have to say
on this matter.
Could it be that "...ye do
err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of
God" (Matthew
22:29)?
What saith the Scriptures?
For every promise of God, there is a
"set time" or
"appointed time"
for its fulfillment.
You must realize that or else Satan will
"get an advantage of"(2 Corinthians
2:11) or trouble you in your wait.
God promised a son to Abraham and Sarah. He also
promised a son to Elisabeth and Zechariah. Both
couples received the promise by Faith, but both had
to wait for His set time for their miracle. It is no
different with us.
Genesis 17:21 says -
"But My covenant will I establish with Isaac,
which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set
time in the next year."
Genesis 18:14 says - "Is
any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time
appointed I will return unto thee, according to
the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son."
Genesis 21:1-2 says - "And
the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD
did unto Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah
conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age,
at the set time of which God had spoken to him."
Romans 9:9 adds - "For
this is the word of promise, At this time
will I come, and Sarah shall have a son."
Luke 1:57 says - "Now
Elisabeth's full time came that she should be
delivered; and she brought forth a son."
"at this set time"
- it is an appointed time...one fixed upon by God to
fulfill His covenant or contract with you
"at the time appointed"
- He Who alone speaks and it is done...Who commands
and it stands fast - is encouraging you this day
with these words. He has a defined time when He will
"return unto thee." It will happen just
as He has spoken. He has not forgotten His promise
but is at this very moment working toward its
miraculous fulfillment.
"And the LORD visited
Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as
He had spoken" -
The vision which God gave you shall surely come to
pass. "Though it tarry,
wait for it" (Habakkuk 2:3). Just as He
did for Sarah, He will visit you in His mercy. You
will be able to testify as she did that
"He is faithful that
promised"(Hebrews 10:23,
11:11).
"At this time will I come"
- Even though the promise seems so unlikely to
happen - everything and everyone around you is
denying its reality - yet when He shows up, it will
surely come to pass just as He said.
"Now Elisabeth's full time
came" - As it was
for Elisabeth, your
"full time" of
waiting will be over, and you will experience the
fulfillment of His promise to you.
As the songwriter said -
"Don't give up on the
brink of a miracle...
Don't give up, God is
still on the Throne..."
Another wrote a song which goes like this -
"Now is the time for
you...
Your wondering and waiting
is over...
Through all of your
problems, your God's breaking through...
Now is the time...
Now is the time...
Now is the time for you!"
Has God given you a promise?
Then know that it will surely come to
pass as He has spoken.
Remember what Pastor Henry said -
"God is always punctual
to His time, though His promised mercies come not at
the time we set, they will certainly come at the
time He sets, and that is the best time."
The Lord Jesus has a "set
time" for your Miracle.
Be encouraged today.
His delay is not denial.
It wasn't for Abraham and Sarah nor for Elisabeth
and Zechariah.
He is an On-time God.
His time is the Best Time.
In the meantime, silence your soul's agitation as
David did with these words -
"Truly my soul waiteth upon
God; from Him cometh my salvation...My soul, wait
thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him"(Psalm
62:1, 5)
Expect Big for
your serve a Big and Mighty God!
