The Key To The Miraculous

Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary defines surrender as "the action of yielding one's person or giving up the possession of something - especially into the power of another."
Surrender is yielding ourselves to Jesus. It is giving up the possession of our lives into His Hands or Power.
We oftentimes sing the song -
"I surrender all,
I surrender all,
All to Thee, my Blessed Savior,
I surrender all"
- yet we have things that we are holding back from the Lord. There are things like stubbornness, unbelief, anger, hostility, jealousy, unforgiveness, bitterness, pride, and foolishness that still reside in our hearts.
Have we truly surrendered all?
Who really controls us today?
Have we yielded every part of our being, lives, families, and possessions to the Lord Jesus Christ?
Does He have our past, present, and future in His hands?
Is He directing and ordering our steps, or are we still laying out the plans and then getting His opinion
on them? How much does He control us?
That will determine how much Power we have to live this Christian life.
Surrender is not defeat.
It is the only way to victory.
Many are not walking in victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil simply because they have not Surrendered All.
Surrendering All to the Lord Jesus is the key that unlocks the Power of God in one's life.
The songwriter said it so well -
"I have decided to follow Jesus...
No turning back,
No turning back.
The Cross before me - the World behind me...
No turning back,
No turning back.
Though none go with me, still I will follow...
No turning back,
No turning back."
Having a made-up mind...deciding to follow Jesus though none go with you... embracing the Cross that daily crosses your will and your way of living and doing things - This is what is meant by the words - Surrendering All.
Have you taken up your Cross today?
Have you crucified your flesh that craves for satisfaction and its way? Have you truly decided to follow Jesus with no turning back?
This is what Surrender is all about. This is exactly what God requires of us - nothing more and nothing less. And this is the Open Door to the Power of God that we need so desperately - living amidst this sinful and adulterous generation.

How Great is your Power?
It all depends on how much Jesus has of you.
The Holy Spirit is instructing us today to -
"Give it all, give it all, give it all to Jesus..."
May God Bless Us This Day as We seek to serve Him as Totally Surrendered Vessels of Honor.
