PRESERVE Me, O God

What about you today?
Are you facing danger?
Have you had a sudden change of direction?
Is your life filled with inexplicable turmoil?
Are you surrounded by evil on the right hand and on the left?

Remember, nothing is accidental with God.
He rules and overrules.
He orders our steps, and He orders our stops.
Delay is not denial with Him.
He is never too late; He is always on time.
He has ways and means of solving our problems that are absolutely unfathomable to us.

Psalm 16:1 "PRESERVE me, O God: for in Thee do I put my trust."

What exactly is Divine Providence?
How would you define it?

Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary defines it as "divine guidance or care; God conceived as the power sustaining and guiding human destiny."

What are your thoughts about it?
Have you ever studied it?

Read and meditate on the sayings of the following writers concerning Providence. Let God speak to you through each one -

Phil Webb"If a Christian has to change his plans, it is always because God has something better in store."
Thomas Watson"God would never permit evil if He could not bring good out of evil."
A. W. Tozer
"I do not know why God does some things, but I am convinced that nothing is accidental in His universe."
Henry W. Longfellow
"Nothing is or can be accidental with God."
J. C. Ryle
"Nothing was too little for God to create. Nothing is too little for God to preserve."
William S. Plumer
 - "We need never fear that God will be dethroned, or overreached, or defeated."
                               - "God rules and overrules."
                               - "God is at no loss for means, instruments, or agents. Heaven and earth, sea and land, mind and matter are full of them."
George Mueller
"God not only orders our steps; He orders our stops."
J. A. Bengal
"God has His hours and His delays."

David understood the Providence of God. He had absolute confidence in the sustaining and guiding power of His Creator and King. This utmost trust is exemplified in his sincere prayer, recorded in Psalm 16:1 -        "PRESERVE me, O God: for in Thee do I put my trust."

He faced danger so many times in his life. Therefore, he leaned heavily on the hand of God which guides and protects His own.

"PRESERVE me, O God" - In other words, keep, guard, protect, and preserve me from all trouble. Watch over me, take charge of me, restrain and keep me within the bounds of Your Holy Word.

"For in Thee do I put my trust" - To You alone do I flee for protection and seek refuge. In You alone do I confide, and on You alone do I rely. You are God, and because You are God, You have everything under control.

Why not pray as David prayed - "PRESERVE me, O God..."

Then place your total trust and confidence in Him.
He has everything under control.
You can count on that!

May God Bless His Word.
